If you were driving along John Walker Dr in Manurewa on Friday 5 and you noticed some students at the Finlayson Park School did not wear their normal school uniforms, that was when Tongan students at the school celebrated Tongan Language Week 2014. Children and parents gathered at the school hall in Tongan formal attires enjoying a range of Tongan cultural and fun filled activities. The organiser and MC of the day, ‘Olivia Latu, said the theme of the week was – Sia Mo’ui and it was wonderful seeing parents and the school as a whole were very supportive of Tongan Language Week.
