Police warn people of fake website selling Tongan police clearance certificates

Tonga Police are warning internet users of a scam on a fake website where fraudsters pretend to be officers who can issue Tongan ๐๐จ๐ฅ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐ฅ๐ž๐š๐ซ๐š๐ง๐œ๐ž ๐‚๐ž๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ญ๐ž๐ฌย .

Police advice is: โ€œ๐ot ๐ญ๐จ ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ญ๐ก๐จ๐ฌ๐ž ๐ฐ๐ž๐›๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ž๐ฌ ๐š๐ฌ ๐ญ๐ก๐ž๐ฒ ๐š๐ซ๐ž fakeโ€.

Police said applicants who would like to have copies of their Police clearance record must submit their application to the Tonga Police National Criminal Record office.

They must pay fees which range from TOP$34 to $46, it said.

It did not mention the link to the fake website.
