Police seize drugs after man crashes car in Tongatapu

Police have charged a Fangaloto man with possession of illicit drugs after the man crashed a vehicle on Monday at Fonongahina.

The  50-year-old driver was heading north on Tapuvao Road when he allegedly swerved and crashed into a power pole.

The driver is in critical condition at Vaiola Hospital, Deputy Commisioner Pelenatita Vaisuai said in a statement.

She said the Police Drugs Taskforce seized 24 cannabis packs from the vehicle.

Police investigation continues.
