Tonga’s new born prince named Taufa'ahau Manumataongo

“His Majesty King Tupou VI has been pleased to name the new born son of Their Royal Highnesses, Crown Prince Tupouto’a ‘Ulukalala and Crown Princess Sinaitakalai, Taufa’ahau Manumataongo”.

Princess Sinaitakala delivered the new born child in Auckland Hospital at 1.02 a.m. Friday  10 May, 2013 according to the Palace Office’s press release.

As Sinaitakala’s first-born child, he is second in line to the throne.

Lord Chamberlain  says Sinaitakala and Prince Taufa’ahau Manumataongo  “are in good health”.

The names Taufa’ahau and Manumataongo are historically royal names given to the two late kings Taufa’ahau Tupou IV  died in 15 August 2006 and his successor and son King George V was named Manumataongo when he was born on 4 May 1948 – 18 March 2012.
