Major leaks and flooding have caused the Langimalie Clinic at Panmure, Auckland to be closed down on Tuesday 7 May.
Professor Sitaleki Finau from the clinic says in a Press Release that the clinic has been “seriously damaged in the rain and is now closed.
“It will remain closed for at least a week while we try to re-equip it and rebuild it THS has a content insurance we are looking into”.
Finau said that the problem has been due to the clinic’s failure to keep up to the requirements laid out in the lease deed in which the tenant must keep the “gutter clear and unimpeded”.
“This is inopportune but let’s prays and keep our fingers crossed. So I ask everyone to remain calm while we sort out the costs and the building. We will get the clinic rolling again,” he said.
All clients of the clinic have been asked to go to the Langimalie Clinic at Onehunga and “If there are any transport difficulties please let Viliami and I know so we can get our transports to help,” Finau said.
It was expected that the maintenance would be finished by Saturday 11 May.
