Auckland City: Suspicious package, Queen Street

Auckland City District police are currently at the scene of a suspicious package at a bustop in the vicinity of 305 Queen Street, Auckland City. The package was reported to Police by a concerned member of public at 1pm.

Police have some concerns in regard to the appearance of the package and have cordoned off a section of Queen Street between Mayoral Drive and Wakefield Street to all pedestrian and motor traffic.

Defence Force personnel are currently on site and will conduct a thorough investigation of the suspicious package.

Traffic delays will be experienced in the locality of this incident and the public are asked to exercise patience or avoid travel in the vicinity.
The incident could continue for a further 1-2 hours.
