Citizens of Samoa, Tonga, Kiribati and Tuvalu are encouraged to register for this year’s Samoa Quota and Pacific Access Category from 1 to 30 April 2013.
Immigration New Zealand Regional Manager, Pacific/Americas Alan Barry says everyone who is eligible to apply should make sure they lodge a registration application and check that they have the required forms and documents.
“People registering must declare all their immediate family members on their registration form. This will ensure all of them can be considered in a residence application form, if the registration is successful in the ballot”, says Mr Barry.
Immigration New Zealand will contact each applicant via a text message or email to acknowledge receipt of their application. Applicants will then need to hold on to their Client Registration Number to check the status of their application after the ballot draw in June.
Registering for Samoa Quota is free but there is a NZ$70 registration fee for the Pacific Access Category. This fee is reduced to NZ$30 for those who have registered in a previous year.
Ballot registrations form will be available from Immigration New Zealand Pacific branches in Apia, Nuku’alofa and Suva when registrations open, or can be downloaded from www.immigration.govt.nz
