Samoan early childhood learning workshops

A target of the Pasifika Education Plan 2013-17 is to increase Pacific participation in early childhood education (ECE) from 86.8 percent in 2012 to 98 percent in 2016.

To assist in reaching this target the Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs will be holding a series of workshops to promote the benefits of ECE over the coming months.

The first workshop will be held at East Tamaki Ekalesia Faapotopotoga Kerisiano Samoa Church, 104 Dawson Rd, East Tamaki on Saturday 16th February 2013 at 10am – 12.30pm.

The workshops will cover these topics:

. The benefits of early learning to your children

. The types of service provision available

. Information from local ECE providers on their service in your area

. Enrolling your child

. Financial support – key government agencies will provide financial assistance information for parents.

. Setting up an Early Childhood Education service.

Please RSVP by Friday 8th February to Silone Faoagali at the Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs on 09 2653229, or via e-mail.
