Australia leads by concrete action

Australia has answered the emergency call from Kiribati Island about the devastating needs to rebuild the island’s damaged infrastructures.

Australian government decides to give $18.5 million to help out fixing Kiribati island’s roads to ensure going to school, markets and health clinic are possible.

Senator Bob Carr is agreed with Kiribati’s president Anote Tong for the very urgent need of action to save Kiribati from being possibly washed away by rising sea level in 2030. They are crying out to the UN Security Council for a climate change action to reduce the risk of future resources being terminated.

At present, coastal erosion, rising sea levels and saltwater intrusion into drinking water are major concerns. They are inescapable if immediate action delay.
